Baked Ziti Recipe

Several people asked for the Ziti recipe so here it is:


1/2 lb of dried ziti or penne pasta (whole wheat)

16oz ricotta cheese

3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

3 cups spaghetti sauce (I use Prego)

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup sugar

Boil ziti in pot of water with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon salad oil

for 10 minutes, drain and then return pasta to pot.

Stir in the ricotta cheese and half of the mozzarella in with the cooked pasta.

Put pasta in a separate bowl and mix in the sugar.

Pour half of the sauce in a 9″ x 13″ casserole dish to make the  first layer.

Then put the ziti-cheese mixture in the casserole to make the 2nd layer.

Pour the rest of the sauce on top for the third layer.

Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and the Parmesan cheese on top.

Bake uncovered at 350* for 30 minutes.
